Another rain affected MotoGP weekend

The 98,000 spectators packed into the tight, hilly Sachsenring circuit near Chemnitz for the German MotoGP were met with another cold, grey and wet race day.The track was damp for the 125cc race, although all 39 starters opted for slicks, whilst the track was fully wet for the 250cc race and the MotoGP race was run in very heavy rain.

Weather plays its part at Assen

Assen, traditional home to the Dutch TT since the start of the World Championship in 1949, is notorious for its changeable weather. Intermittent rain showers and strong winds are a regular feature of the race weekend there, and 2008 was no exception. Rain affected practice, and the track was not completely dry when the 125cc riders came to the grid in front of 95,000 spectators.

Joe Moore wins the Dunlop Racer Award while Hawkes still leads Championship

Young gun, Joe Moore, was the surprise package at the ACU Dunlop Suzuki GSX-R Trophy rounds held at the British MotoGP at Donington Park on the 21st June. The 16-year old took the race one win and third place in the second race to pick up the one-off Dunlop GP Racer Award, earning himself a set of made to measure Dainese leathers courtesy of Dunlop.

Young Briton makes the headlines at the British MotoGP

125cc:15 year old Scott Redding  catapulted himself into the British national press after winning the 125cc British GP at Donington on Sunday June 22.
